MatGold is a wrestling records database, not an advertising business. Your personal data is not the product. This page says what we collect, why, and who else can see it.
The short version
- If you register, we collect your name, email address and username. That is all we ask for.
- We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or run any ad or tracking scripts.
- Page-view counts are totals per page per day, never tied to you.
- You can delete your account, and your personal data with it, at any time.
What we collect, and what we do not
Before you register, only this page, the Terms of Service, the pages describing MatGold, and the sign-in and registration screens are open. We collect no personal information there beyond the ordinary request data any website processes to serve a page.
When you create an account, we collect your first and last name (your display name), your email address (for confirmation, sign-in and password resets), your public username, and your password, which is stored only as a secure hash that nobody at MatGold can read.
While you use the site, we store what you create: leagues, team names, draft picks, roster moves, league messages, and corrections you submit, which are linked to your account so we can follow up.
We do not collectpayment details (the site is free), your precise location, anything from your device beyond the page you are on, or session recordings. Our error monitoring can replay a user’s screen; that feature is switched off because this site handles sign-in forms.
Children. Accounts require you to be at least 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; if we learn we have, we delete it, so write to privacy@matgold.com if you believe a child has registered.
How we count page views
We keep a daily total of views for each wrestler, team and event page: the page, the date, and a number. It holds no user ID, IP address or device information. It exists so we know which records people read.
Why we hold it
Only to run your account and keep it secure, run the features you use, send account email (confirmation, password resets, service notices), answer you when you write to us, and diagnose errors. For UK and EU users, our lawful bases are contract, legitimate interests, and consent where we ask for it. We send no marketing email; if we ever do, it will be opt-in with one-click unsubscribe.
Who else sees your data
We do not sell or rent your data. It is shared only with the services that run the site:
- Supabase — database and authentication. Holds your account and everything you create, stored in the United States.
- Vercel — hosting. Processes requests to serve pages.
- Sentry — error monitoring. Records technical details when something breaks, which can include an IP address and the page you were on. Configured not to send personal information, cookies or headers; session replay is off; a small share of traffic is sampled.
- Resend — email delivery. Processes your email address and the account emails we send.
Each acts on our instructions, not for its own purposes. We may also disclose information if the law requires it or to protect our users, and we will tell you unless legally barred from doing so.
Cookies
One purpose only: keeping you signed in. The cookie is set by our authentication provider when you log in and is strictly necessary, since an account is required to read the records. There are no advertising, analytics or third-party cookies, and no cookie identifies you before you sign in.
How long we keep it
As long as your account exists. Delete it and your name, email and username go with it within 30 days, allowing for backups that expire on their own cycle. Two things outlive an account: messages in a shared league may stay visible to that league against a deleted user, and an accepted correction remains part of the wrestling records, because it is a fact about a competition rather than information about you.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask to see what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or get a copy. Write to privacy@matgold.com; we respond within 30 days, free, and without treating you differently for asking.
California residents may know, delete, correct, and opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information as California law defines those terms, and have not in the past twelve months. UK and EU residents may also object to or restrict processing, take their data with them, withdraw consent, and complain to their data protection authority.
If you appear in the wrestling records
This policy covers users of the site. The records are different: public competition results, drawn from published brackets, record books and school archives, naming the athletes who competed. They are not created from user accounts and the account rights above do not apply to them. If a record about you is wrong, submit a correction. If you are the athlete named, or the parent of a minor who is, and want an entry reviewed for removal, write to privacy@matgold.com. We read every request and we answer.
Security and changes
Passwords are hashed, traffic is encrypted in transit, and database access is restricted. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal data we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires. If this policy changes we will update the effective date above and post notice of material changes, including any new processor, on the site.
